The Eyrie

A shop of magical curiosities in the Market Ward, maintained by an ancient and powerful being.

Proprietor: Starwhisper (Couatl)

A magnificent feathered serpent, approximately 20 feet long, with iridescent plumage that shifts between gold, blue, and violet. Its eyes are ancient and knowing. It perches on massive stone coils in a shop that feels more like a crystalline cave than a storefront.

An ancient couatl who has watched civilizations rise and fall, collecting magical curiosities across millennia. Views commerce as secondary to understanding the moral character of those who seek items. Will refuse to sell to those it judges as corrupt, regardless of price.

Speaks in a melodic voice with strange pauses, as if listening to something beyond mortal hearing. Prices are negotiable through conversation—it values the right item going to the right person more than maximum profit. Genuinely unsettling because it seems to know things about you that you haven’t told anyone.

Notable Policy

Starwhisper judges customers by their character, not their coin. It will refuse sale to those it deems unworthy, no matter how much gold they offer. Those who earn its trust, however, may find themselves offered items at prices far below their value, or even given items freely if Starwhisper believes they are needed.
